22 October 2023 – 23 February 2025
Curator of the exhibition: Małgorzata Korżel-Kraśna
The exhibition was prepared to celebrate the 125th anniversary of the founding of the Silesian Museum of Artistic Craft and Antiquity in Wrocław, which played a significant cultural role in the era of Historicism.
This is the first major presentation in Poland of historical furniture from that time, shedding light on this relatively little known period, and revealing its intriguing characteristics.
The exhibition is dedicated mostly to furniture making in the second half of the 19th cent. and the early 20th cent., but in this context also shows the most important trends in the interior design and artistic crafts of that time inspired by the past styles. There are around 200 artefacts on display.
